Lug Gives Back to the Community
On Tuesday April 13, 2010, the Lug team headed out to Humanity First to help with the food drive as part of the Give a Day, Get a Disney Day. To encourage people to get out and make a difference, Disney announced a campaign in hopes of getting one million people to give their time and hard work and they have already reached this target….yay!
We arrived at Humanity First Food Bank and learned about their Feed a Family initiative. They deliver food to the doorsteps of the needy and disabled. The recipients are people who are facing challenges and cannot reach the Food Bank due to physical disability or lack of available transportation. Most of these people are without stable shelter, battling abuse, single parents, students under debt, and bed ridden patients. Check outwww.humanityfirst.org for more information.
The Lug crew helped with sorting food and putting bags of rice, flour and sugar together. We are only a small group, but every little bit helps to make a difference.
It was an awesome experience and felt good to give back to our community. So if you have some spare time, think about volunteering. There are always organizations out there that need your help. Go Lug Go!
