Lug Golfs for Good

This Monday we had the pleasure of sponsoring the Women's Celebrity Golf Invitational, which supports brain health at Alberta Children's Hospital. The two-day event raised more than $150,000 for the cause. (Woohoo!) We got to provide lunch bags to all the golfers, Cartwheels to the celebs, and Undercover Bears to children in the hospital. We just love participating in events like this one. You know, the kind that give you the warm-and-fuzzies. Now, check out some cool pics!

A Lug Love Story: Gift Giving at its Finest

When I heard this lovely little love story, I thought it was too cute not to share. And who doesn't love a Lug love story anyway, right? Sooooo, one of our fabulous Lug retailers was helping a hopeless romantic choose a special gift for his special gal. She travels a bit, so they ended up with a Lug Snuz Sac (pictured) in her favorite color—Plum Purple. Then, they sent the Snuz Sac her way, to surprise her on her doorstep. And here's the review of her reaction from her main squeeze: 

"She finally made it home and in her words, the gift was 'Perfect! Perfect! Perfect!' ... The best thing is that every time she wraps the blanket around her she will think of me :)"

Alright. Let's hear that collective "awwwww!" How adorable is that? 

Now, I'm not telling you this story to make you jealous or to encourage requests for this hopeless romantic's number or field questions as to whether he has a brother. But all I'm saying is if you have someone who may need a little help in the awesome-gift-giving department, you can feel free to pass this tale along. Am I right?

Lug Hooks Up Rookie Leaguers

Each summer, the Jays Care Foundation, in partnership with Toronto Community Housing, runs Rookie League, a summer-long baseball day-camp.  The program is open to participants between the ages of 6-13, and this year, over 1,100 youth from 56 Toronto Community Housing neighbourhoods developed their baseball skills through weekly drills, games, and tournaments throughout July and August.

We at Lug were lucky enough to participate in the Rookie League Wrap-Up today at the Rogers Centre, where Rookie Leaguers enjoyed an awards ceremony and lunch, and we got to hand out custom Jays backpacks stuffed full of school supplies and dental supplies, sure to help these kiddos start the school year off with a bang!

Awesome event. Awesome cause. Awesomely fun time!
